The Swedish manufacturer invites DAVID BARROW to take a closer look at its Boras manufacturing plant

Forty years ago, Volvo watchword was “Care for the Environment”. Today in 2023, that is the mantra every vehicle manufacturer is focusing on in every section, whether it be bus and coach, commercial vehicles, or private cars.

In January the opportunity presented itself for me to visit the Volvo Bus plant at Boras in Sweden. Boras lies 63km (39 miles) due east from Gothenburg, and 405km (250 miles) from the Swedish capital Stockholm. Boras was historically known for its extensive textile industry.
