PLAXTON is developing a 12.2m short wheelbase version of the Panther coach body on the Volvo B8R chassis. First customer is Roy McCarthy Coaches of Macclesfield, which also took the first 12.2m Leopard body on a B8R.

SELWYN MOTORS is deregistering its long established Belton-Doncaster service 292 from 12 January. The MCW Metrobus operated on it does not comply with Disability Discrimination Act access requirements. This operation was profiled in July Buses.

FIRST CYMRU has replaced the Aberystwyth-Cardiff service lost when Lewis Coaches went into administration in August. Its T1C service extends one southbound and one northbound journey of the Traws Cymru T1 (Aberystwyth- Carmarthen) service to Swansea and Cardiff in place of Lewis’s service 701.
