75 years – The Magnificent Ten

I refer to 75 anniversary supplement and the above interesting feature (Buses January).

While I agree with the majority of your editorial board's nominations, I would suggest the following:

The Leyland National paragraphs should be supplemented by mention of the Leyland Lynx, a more sophisticated and comfortable bus to ride on. Its engine and transmission was positively musical and more calming than the clatter of the National. No doubt their staid frontal appearance had the driver's night time vision needs in mind. These buses served Bristol's City Line services well in the 90s.

Another first-class single-decker of the mid-90s, and widely adopted, was the Volvo B10BLE with Wright Renown bodywork. They were fully accessible and offered a new standard of quiet and convenience. The air conditioning rarely worked, …
