Nine south London routes retained, one gained from Stagecoach

Recent tendered service awards have seen Go-Ahead London retain nine south London routes and gain another from Stagecoach Selkent. The double-deckers currently used on route 171 (Hither Green-Holborn) will move over to route 37 (Putney Heath-Peckham), while route 87 (Wandsworth-Aldwych) will receive six new hybrid double-deckers to augment the current allocation to the route.

The 386 (Woolwich-Blackheath), which Selkent has operated by from Plumstead garage since it was introduced in 1991, will move to Go-Ahead London Central next June. Eight of the single-deckers to be used will come from the current allocation of route 299 (Cockfosters-Muswell Hill), which passes to Sullivan Buses on 3 February. The balance of the allocation has yet to be confirmed.

Route 485 (Wandsworth-Hammersmith) will ultimately receive single-deckers currently used on route 244 (Abbey Wood- Queen Elizabeth Hospital), which is to be converted to double-deck operation in connection with changes linked to the opening of the Elizabeth Line in December 2018.
