Stagecoach Midlands makes major changes

A major revision of Stagecoach Midlands services in Northamptonshire and Warwickshire will see more than 50 routes revised on the same day, 5 January.

All eight depots and outstations will be affected, and some changes will reverse a pattern of gradually increasing frequencies over the past few years.

In Nuneaton, the 10min interval service between there and Hinckley on routes 10 and Gold 48 will be halved when the 10 is cut back, leaving it solely as a Nuneaton local. Arriva’s Sapphire 158 also links the two towns every 20min.

Round-the-houses routes 55, 56 and 57 linking Nuneaton, Bedworth and Coventry will be reduced from five journeys an hour to two routes each running half-hourly. Diversions of existing routes will also cover parts of other services that are to be withdrawn.

Frequency reductions will affect the X17 between Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington and Warwick. This partly competes with National Express Coventry route 11, which was increased from half-hourly to every 20mins earlier in 2018. The X17 will drop from quarterhourly to every 20mins, while half-hourly extensions to Stratford are replaced by new hourly route 15, starting in Leamington.
