Small Swedish town goes all-electric

The small southern Swedish town of Värnamo (pop: 19,000) is electrifying its entire fleet by buying four Volvo 7900 electric hybrids, which enter service this autumn.

The turnkey deal for operator Jönköpings Länstrafik includes a pantograph rapidcharging system from ABB. Volvo is responsible for the upkeep of the buses and their batteries at a fixed monthly cost.
