SCANIA INTEGRAL RETURN

A decade after OmniCity production ceased, Scania is to once again provide integral buses for the UK, starting with the Fencer f1.

The initial demonstrator is a 12.2m long vehicle, powered by a 9 litre 280hp engine.
Three-point seatbelts are installed throughout the demonstrator. The vehicle seats 45, with room for 29 standees.
The driver’s area, a new design, features an adjustable instrument panel, with all controls within arm’s reach. Future vehicles will offer cameras in place of wingmirrors.

Scania has unveiled the first vehicle in its new Fencer bus range, which will be available in right-hand drive in the UK ahead of anywhere else in world.

The Fencer f1 is a singledecker, fully built-up bus. It will be the first complete Scania single-decker to be released in the UK for ten years, since production of the OmniCity ceased. The replacement for the OmniCity, the Citywide, was not made available in right-hand drive.

The f1 forms the basis of a new platform for Scania buses, and the range will be introduced into other markets in the future.
