Among anniversaries being celebrated this year are the introduction of two legendary vehicles — the 85th of the Bedford OB at the Transport Museum Wythall on May 18/19 and the 70th of the London Routemaster at Chiswick on July 20/21.

The Museum of Transport Greater Manchester is marking 200 years of public bus services — the first linked Salford and Manchester — with a whole season of themed events.

Undaunted by the fire which wrecked one of its lovingly restored favourites, the Friends of King Alfred Buses will launch the latest addition to its working fleet, an early postwar Leyland Titan PD2, at its running day on May 6.
