Leading operators in the Glasgow area have joined forces to create Glas-Go, a new bus alliance formed to improve sustainable travel in the city and increase bus patronage by 25% over the next five years.

Involved from the start are Stagecoach, First Bus, JMB Travel, McGill’s, Whitelaws and West Coast Motors, operator of Glasgow Citybus and Glasgow City Sightseeing, but all city region operators will be invited to join. The alliance is chaired by Stagecoach West Scotland managing director Fiona Doherty, with First Glasgow managing director Andrew Jarvis as vice-chair.

The alliance has produced a manifesto which captures a multi-operator vision and sets out a commitment to deliver and invest in sustainable, reliable and customer-focused bus travel.
