Hammersmith Bridge closure looks likely to be lengthy

New contracts will convert four more single-deck routes to battery electric operation from next year, while the award of a 12-month contract for a new diesel route makes it appear likely that Hammersmith Bridge (Look in on London last month) will remain closed to traffic for a long time.

The electrification announcement is in line with Transport for London’s policy that all new single-deckers should be zero emission from 2020.
