Founded: October 1996, when Belle Vue Cars (private hire car service owned by Philip Hitchen and Ian Bragg) expanded into coaching with purchase of Bedford YMT/Duple Dominant WWE 135S. Acquired Griffiths Coaches, Hyde 1998, added minibuses. Taxi business sold 1999 to concentrate on limousine and chauffeur services. Acquired County Coaches, Stockport 2005 and relocated from near former Zoological Gardens in Hyde Road to County’s base on former Fairey Aviation site, close to erstwhile Crossley Motors factory. Began long-term relationship with Greater Manchester PTE, now Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) 2003, providing yellow schoolbus services with PTE-owned Iveco Scolabuses. Started tours and excursions 1999. Sold brochure business to Norwich-based UK Holiday Group 2011. Two rock band coaches operated 2007-09, but Belle Vue now passes this work to other operators through its website.
