Based: Head office and depot – York Road, Sutton-on-Forest, North Yorkshire.

Founded: 1930 by Edward Sheriff, who had worked for Ovington Motors of York, and took over its York-Helmsley route, trading as Reliance with two ADC 416s and an AEC 426 and a small depot in Sutton-on-Forest. Fleet peaked 1947 with 10 buses. When Sheriff died in 1965, daughter Carol and husband Richard Shelton carried on the business, cutting main service back to Brandsby. Sold business 1980 to current owners John and Margaret Duff; he had been an engineer with Thornes of Bubwith. Restored livery to green and cream from red. Bought first double-decker 1981, first new bus (DAF SB220/Optare Delta R26 GNW) 1997.

Moorsbus and Dalesbus contracted leisure services operated 1999 to 2007.
