Copenhagen selects MAN gas bendies for BRT route

Denmark’s largest transport authority, Movia, is funding 41 new biogasfuelled MAN Lion’s City bendybuses to speed up public transport in the capital Copenhagen, with CO2 emissions comparable with electric vehicles.

Arriva, which runs 40% of Movia’s 1,250 buses, is operating them on the new cross-city bus rapid transit (BRT) City Line linking Herlev with Kastrup airport, partly on dedicated bus lanes. The 18.75m Lion’s City GL A40 CNG combines rapid passenger flow with a high passenger capacity of 110 standing and 37 seated.

They have five 1.25m wide, doubleleaf swivel sliding doors, faired-in centre and rear wheelarches and translucent bellows.

The route is already carrying 75,000 passengers a day.
