Engineering director for First Bus

Former Arriva London engineering director Ian Warr has taken on a similar role for First Bus across the UK. He joined First earlier this year to support the Buses of Somerset joint venture with Crosville Motor Services to provide transport during construction of the new Hinkley Point nuclear power station and took up his new role on 1 May.

Keith Ludeman, former chief executive of Go-Ahead Group, has become chair of trustees at the London Transport Museum.

Obituary

Widely respected north-west England bus preservationist Bill Ashcroft died on 6 April, aged 82. He was being treated for cancer. His preservation projects included vehicles from the Fishwick’s fleet in Leyland and the ambitious restoration of a 1931 Leyland Lion LT2 new to Ribble.
