Bus was one of five Crossleys delivered to Derby Corporation in 1952 joining a fleet almost exclusively of Daimlers.
As they were manual transmission they were used extensively for driver training during the mid to late 1960s being finally withdrawn in January 1970.
CRC 911 was only saved because Crossley enthusiast Michael Howarth purchased the bus and used it for rallies for a number of years, however the bus did not return to Derby until purchased by the current owner in 2008 after Mr Howarth's death.
