Ishare Andy Rigby’s view (Buses March and April) that bus interiors are given insufficient thought or testing by manufacturers of buses and those who order them.

First, regarding the moquette v e-Leather debate, it is funny how things go in cycles. Back in the 1970s, we started to move away from then perceived utilitarian vinyl or Rexine to increasing use of moquette, for similar reasons as Andy cites, i.e. moquette feels warmer (both physically and in terms of ambience) than vinyl or e-Leather. Granted, today’s e-Leather fabrics are more advanced in quality than the 1970s offerings, but too often the method of covering the seats means they look little better, being too flat and stretched looking.
