Stagecoach and Shuttle Buses place first orders for Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV midibuses

Stagecoach and Shuttle Buses have placed the first announced orders for the new Alexander Dennis Enviro100EV midibus.

Stagecoach is buying 20 and Ayrshire-based Shuttle Buses has ordered its first example.

The Scottish government’s ScotZEB challenge fund has supported Stagecoach’s purchase, with production already underway and deliveries expected in the first half of this year. They are expected to be used in all its operating companies in Scotland.

The Enviro100EV is 8.5m long and 2.35m wide, offering seating for up to 25 passengers. Alongside its compact dimensions, the manufacturer promises a range between charges of up to 285miles, thanks to its Voith 354kWh battery system developed in collaboration with Impact Clean Power Technology.

Stagecoach chief operating officer Sam Greer highlights the significance of the order.
