Founded: 1989 when John Marshall, motor spares business proprietor and part-time driver for Gash of Newark, purchased two Gash vehicles after Road Car bought that business. Introduced market day service between Dunham-on-Trent and Newark. His family is descended from local basket makers and company is based in a former basket factory. Fleet expanded from 1990, retaining Gash’s alphanumeric fleet numbering from 31 onwards. First of 26 new vehicles purchased 1998, Dennises numbered DS50/1.

Acquired Road Car’s Lincoln-based Coachlink excursion business 2003 but has since closed it. Established new excursion programme following closure of Newark-based Travel Wright in 2022, using most of its pick-up points. Operated Fosseway Flyer service 90 (Newark-Nottingham) until April 2023.

Where does it operate?: Service 37 (Newark-Retford) and 339 (Tuxford-North Muskham) weekdays and Saturdays, plus peak journeys for Tuxford Academy. Within Newark, hourly 77 (Hawtonville Circular) …
