Exclusively for Buses, PAUL HEELS has once again picked his way through the PSV Circle’s monthly news sheets to produce a unique independent analysis of who was up and who was down in the UK bus and coach market in 2016. Stagecoach took 43% of the 1,217 new vehicles delivered to the Big Five groups for operation outside London last year. Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC 10537 (SN16 ONB), photographed in south Liverpool, was one of 18 delivered last May to the Merseyside & South Lancashire fleet.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders no longer publishes statistics showing the market shares achieved by the different manufacturers supplying the UK with buses and coaches, so this annual analysis — using data derived from PSV Circle news sheets — is a unique and independent source of information on who delivered what last year.
