BoltBus completes on-board entertainment roll-out

BoltBus, the premium coach division of First’s Greyhound Lines business in North America, has completed the installation of an on-board entertainment system that allows passengers to watch films and television shows on their own devices.

Following a pilot of the system in 2013, BoltBus has installed it across its entire fleet of 98 coaches operating on the West Coast between Los Angeles and Vancouver and in the north-east between Washington and Boston.

It gives free access for WiFi-enabled smartphones, laptops and tablets to view films, video news and entertainment channels, with the option of paying a small fee to upgrade to a premium internet option for faster surfing. New films are added every month and a proportion of the film offers are available as early as 90 days after they are first shown in cinemas. The content of the entertainment system is stored on each coach, so is not reliant on external cellular signals.
