SWINDON RESPONSE
I was interested to read Simon Brown’s experience of public transport in Swindon (Buses January). Since taking the reins of the former Thamesdown Transport operation in 2017, we have introduced a range of improvements, designed to benefit those travelling with us across the town.
From the very beginning, we listened to our customers – who were very clear about the enhancements they wanted to see. We started by investing heavily in a fleet of brand-new buses to serve routes in-andaround Swindon.
These Alexander Dennis Enviro200 buses, with lower emissions Euro6 engines, are a marked improvement on the previous offering here – giving local people a range of additional features, including USB charging points, and a new style of seating. They also have lighter coloured flooring to assist partially sighted customers and those suffering dementia.
