was amazed at the timing of the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DiPTAC) seeking to put pressure on the government to strengthen the Public Service Vehicle Accessibility Regulations (PSVAR) to cover all of the for-hire sector, as reported recently in the trade press.

I am all for supporting and assisting less able passengers and indeed when I was at Lancaster City Transport, our Lonsdale Coaches subsidiary adapted a coach with a chair lift. I believe it was only the second operator to do so in north/mid Lancashire.
