The first Alexander Dennis Enviro400 City double-deckers for an Arriva fleet outside London were launched in North Wales on 29 June.
The 13 vehicles — worth £3.2million — replace refurbished first generation Enviro400s on 10min frequency Sapphire service 1 (Wrexham-Chester), one of 15 routes in Wales and England that Arriva has upgraded to this premium standard.
They are painted in the two-tone blue Sapphire version of the group’s new corporate livery and are equipped with spacious seating, USB charging points, free WiFi, information screens and audio announcements tailored to the needs of the visually impaired.
