Transdev set to acquire municipal Rosso

The ranks of arms length municipal bus companies are set to fall into single figures, with French multinational Transdev agreeing a deal to acquire Rossendale Transport from Rossendale Borough Council.

The deal, subject to finalisation of the detailed terms, would see Blazefield — Transdev’s commercial bus division serving Lancashire and Yorkshire — retain Rossendale Transport’s Rosso identity, acquire its fleet of over 100 vehicles, its network of routes in east Lancashire and adjoining parts of Greater Manchester, with staff transferring to Transdev employment.
