SHORT HOPS

DATES for the first West End service reductions (Look in on London last month) have been announced, with route 73 cut back to Oxford Circus and the 390 diverted to Victoria from 17 June, when changes will also be made to routes 8, 172 and 242.

LONDON SOVEREIGN’s six Wright SRM-bodied Volvo B5LHs have largely been employed on route 183 (Golders Green-Pinner) since they were displaced from route 13 in April. It has been suggested that, when operated on routes in the West End, intending passengers confused them with New Routemasters and sought to board via the middle door.

SAMSUNG PAY mobile phone payment may now be used to travel on London’s transport network. Mobile applications using Android Pay and ApplePay are already supported.
