Online purchases kill off Solihull Travelshop

National Express West Midlands closed one of its six Travelshops at the end of April. Located in a shop unit immediately adjacent to the main bus stops in Solihull town centre, the company’s publicity states that it had been there since 1976.

As well as providing information and selling tickets for use on local buses, it sold National Express coach tickets. However, the company blames changing methods of sales for the closure, saying: ‘Over the past few years, we’ve seen that, more and more, our customers are buying tickets online on our website or on their phone using our Mticketing app.’

Customers still wanting to buy a paper Travelcard may do so at a nearby Spar shop.
