NatEx bus director heads Stagecoach East Scotland

In a break with recent practice, Stagecoach has recruited from outside its organisation to appoint a new managing director for Stagecoach East Scotland.

Paul Thomas, latterly UK Bus managing director for National Express, joined Stagecoach on 10 July to fill the vacancy created after Andrew Jarvis left last autumn to become MD of First’s Scottish businesses in April this year.

At NatEx, Thomas (pictured) had overall responsibility for the group’s bus operations in the West Midlands and for its Scottish subsidiary, Xplore Dundee. He has over 30 years’ industry experience and before joining NatEx was MD of First Scotland East.

‘His vast experience in the industry and his previous experience within east Scotland mean he will be a great asset to our East Scotland operation,’ says Stagecoach Scotland MD Robert Andrew.
