The Greater Manchester Transport Society celebrated two important events in its history at a formal ceremony at the Museum of Transport in mid August. This was the first reasonable opportunity to bring invited guests together, after months of closure during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event featured the handover of the ‘1901 golden key,’ successfully purchased at auction back in October 2019, and the receipt of the ‘Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service,’ the group equivalent of an MBE, presented to voluntary organisations.
