The MPs say a bus strategy should tackle traffic congestion and set targets for modal shift from cars to buses. JOHN YOUNG

The bus community often has cause to be exasperated by politicians whose agendas and priorities are out of tune with those of the UK’s most used form of public transport. But in its report on bus services in England outside London, the House of Commons transport select committee has hit most nails firmly on their head.
