The managing director of Arriva UK Bus, Paul O’Neil, speaks to JAMES DAY about the company’s strategy, its resilience through the pandemic and its work with local authorities on the bus strategy

Paul O’Neil took up the role of managing director for Arriva UK Bus on April 1, 2019, and has therefore been leading the company through a tough period. For more than half of his time at the helm of Arriva’s bus operations, he has been dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the biggest challenges the bus industry has ever faced. He does however come across as an optimist, and is set on improving the company’s performance in many ways.
