Saturday, September 25 presented an opportunity to sample bus services in the Lakes. Although I have been a regular visitor to the area over many years, the pandemic meant that I had not visited for longer than normal and a day out by bus felt long overdue.

Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancs provides an extensive network in and around the area. Many buses carry the attractive Lakes livery which has managed to escape the corporate image. Printed publicity in the form of a comprehensive and attractive timetable booklet is readily available at a variety of outlets including on all local buses. In addition to timetables and a map, it includes details of the various ticket offers and suggestions for days out. It is truly best in class.
