Hundreds of Hong Kong enthusiasts turned out on 6 July to witness and photograph the official final journey by the last Kowloon Motor Bus Dennis Dragon.

In order to minimise any disruption caused by such a gathering of bus fans, this was held five days before the tri-axle type was finally phased out of public service.

KMB is preserving Dragon ADS235, the final Duple Metsec-bodied Dragon new in 1999 and based at Lai Chi Kok depot. For its farewell run from Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry for Kowloon Station, the throng of enthusiast photographers delayed its 20.00 departure by around 15min.

KMB’s latest tri-axle Wright Geminibodied Volvo B9TLs introduce a new red and silver livery, e-Leather seating in place of hitherto standard vinyl, wood effect laminate, WiFi and USB charging points.
