Truronian Coaches, the Cornish coach operation owned by First South West, has acquired King Harry Coaches of Falmouth.

The operator has provided classic coach hire since 2003. Two coaches have transferred to the Truronian fleet: a 1956 Bedford SBG Duple Vega (UUO 198) and a 1964 AEC Reliance Harrington (AFJ 77B). The current order book and access to all future business and bookings will also transfer across.

The coaches will become the first vehicles to adopt a new ‘Truronian Classic’ sub brand, created by Best Impressions, with further additions planned to join the fleet later this year.

Lee Horrocks, business manager at Truronian Coaches, said: “We’re delighted to be able to take on and continue the provision of classic coach hire from our friends at King Harry Coaches. Their focus on outstanding customer service and attention to detail is something we will continue to deliver, and we’re excited to add the two beautiful classic coaches to our fleet.”

David Russell of King Harry Coaches said: “The time has come for us to hand over the King Harry operation. We approached our friends at Truronian knowing that their enthusiasm and professionalism in the coach market was second to none. We were delighted at their enthusiasm to take on and develop the King Harry product. The coaches and the ethos of the business are safe in their hands.”
