Influential Volvo engineer Adrian Wickens

One of the most influential figures in UK bus and coach engineering in recent decades, former Volvo bus planning manager Adrian Wickens, died suddenly on 21 May, aged 65.

He retired on 30 September 2015, the first day of that year’s Coach & Bus Live exhibition at the National Exhibition Centre, after a career that spanned exactly 42 years, starting when he joined Leyland Truck & Bus as a graduate trainee, hired by the body engineering team working at Park Royal Vehicles on the B15 Titan double-decker then in development.
