STEVE BANNER revisits North Western Motor Services, and learns about its varied and far reaching support for niche and vintage vehicles

It has been over a year since I last spoke at some length to Andy Camp, who runs mechanical repair specialist North Western Motor Services (NWMS – Buses March 2023). Since then, he has not been idle.

His astonishing ability to fix engines, gearboxes, axles and braking systems fitted to elderly buses and get these old stagers running again has taken him to the United States and the Republic of Ireland over the past 12 months. He even had an inquiry from Australia in 2023, but has yet to venture Down Under. That is in addition to tackling umpteen jobs in the UK. “Life has been hectic, as usual,” he smiled.

When I spoke to him, he was preparing to take his Leyland Olympian 302 to the May Bank Holiday Llandudno Transport Festival.

He regularly attends, and sponsors, vintage and classic transport shows and rallies up and down the country.
