Tom McLachlan, who died at the beginning of this year (Buses March), spent most of his working life with Grey-Green Coaches, the 15 until his retirement in 1985 as its general manager. Few are better qualified to write an authoritative history of this one-time giant of the London coach business and this second volume details its last 37 years.

Former Grey-Green traffic manager John Card has edited and enhanced the content, as well as sourcing a wealth of quality colour photographs. Stuart Bell, who produced an attractive book about MacBraynes’ buses 20 years ago, has designed it with some flair. The cover picture is a painting by bus artist Paul Atchinson
