Founded: 1995, when long-established business of E. Jones & Sons of Ponciau was split. Elias Jones started the business in 1968 with a Bedford CA minibus and expanded to operate full-size buses and coaches.
Son David and his son Gary separated the four-vehicle bus business from the coach business, which remained in the hands of younger sons John Barry and Gwyn, and for four years the two businesses operated as E. Jones & Sons, with the bus business carrying E. Jones & Sons Passenger as its fleetname.
Operated services in greater Wrexham area and took on the longer C56 route to Chester. Expanded to take on new routes and contracts in 2016/17 following collapse of GHA and closure of RJ’s of Wem.
Where does it operate?: Eleven Wrexham area locals, plus three longer services from Wrexham, the 5 (Llangollen), C56 (Chester) and 146 (Whitchurch). Twelve school services. Private hires.
