Derry buses to go red but name and logo yet to be finalised

Northern Ireland’s state-owned public transport group, Translink, has settled on red for the new separate identity for Ulsterbus services in Derry-Londonderry (Buses last month), but has yet to finalise the exact shade or trading name.

In common with the blue Ulsterbus and magenta Metro fleet in Belfast, the fleet colour will be applied allover and will be one of four dark shades presented at a public consultation in January

Services currently are branded as Ulsterbus Foyle. The new names being considered are Foylebus with a road logo used by Derry City and Stabane councils, Metro Foyle with an art and culture arc inspired by the city’s Peace Bridge, Foylemetro or Metro Foyle with another Peace Bridge logo; this second Metro Foyle option conforms to Translink’s typography for its other bus and rail operations.
