The date of the 2021 Buses Festival has been brought forward to August 8, with the venue changing to the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

The new venue is less than a mile from the A1 for easy access by road, with free parking available on site. Sat nav users should use the postcode PE2 6HE. A free shuttle bus service will also provide transport between the festival and Peterborough railway station on the day.

Advance ticket prices are £11 per adult (£3.50 saving) with a further £1 discount for Buses subscribers. Advance tickets for children aged 5-16 are £6, saving £3, while children under five years old can enter for free. As a result of the date change, the deadline for advance ticket orders is now Friday, July 30.

Should the event be cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions returning, full refunds will be provided.

The usual mix of bus routes will be running on the day, with shorter services around the showground and longer-distance routes in the surrounding area. These services will adhere to any Covid-19 regulations in place during the event, with registered health and safety experts on site throughout the show to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Julie Hawes, events manager at Key Publishing, explained: “We think the new venue offers us the chance to show off the display vehicles to their best advantage, to maximise photograph opportunities, which sadly we have been unable to do previously. We’re sure the extra space will please the drivers of some of the older vehicles who will no longer have to struggle quite so much to get parked.

“We now also have a large, well-ventilated indoor space in the centre of the show to house indoor traders, as well as one or two star vehicle exhibits. There will of course also be plenty of outside trade space available.

“Together with catering outlets, seating, toilet facilities, and not forgetting the Buses Festival trophies, we believe the day’s experience will be much improved for vehicle owners, traders and visitors alike and we look forward to seeing you all on August 8.”
