Your plea for a national bus strategy (Buses last month) will, I fear, fall on deaf ears, and such a strategy will never become a reality.

I have two reasons for believing this to be the case. First, MPs and the civil servants who run various government departments concerned do not travel by bus. When did you last hear of an MP travelling from Westminster to his or her constituency by National Express or Megabus.com? I know these are express services, but the principle still applies.
