Brief History
Beatrice is a Bristol VR Series 3 double decker, who arrived new to Southdown (part of the nationalised National Bus Company) in March 1980. Given the no. 684, she operated for Southdown and their successors for the entirety of her entire working life, in and around Brighton, Worthing and Portsmouth. She wore three colour schemes during this time - NBC Green, a Brighton Argus newspaper advertising livery and then Stagecoach white, orange, red and blue following sale of the nationalised bus market in 1987. Withdrawn from service in 1998, she was fortunate to be saved from the scrap man, since having five careful owners before being bought by current owners Scott Manley and Malcolm Holmes. Now proudly adorned with the local Leicestershire colours of Midland Fox, Beatrice has lived in the Midlands since November 2018.
